Homeowners

New to the neighborhood?

As new families move into our beautiful neighborhood, someone from the Homeowners Association board, a Block Captain, or another neighbor will come to welcome you personally. We will give you a neighborhood directory, official WOR coffee mugs, and copies of our covenants and by-laws. This page also has other information for reference. Please send an email to woodlandsofriverside@gmail.com if you haven't heard right away! We do most of our communication via email so it's important to have your info updated.

Block Captains

Our neighborhood is divided into 10 zones, and each zone has a neighbor volunteer block captain. The block captain is the liaison to the HoA board, and also a great resource for anything you might need to know or ask about.

We have dues?

Dues of $75 per home are assessed in January via US mail. The association approves a yearly budget at the annual meeting in January. The primary expenditures of the association are snow plowing, maintenance of Runkle Park, and neighborhood events throughout the year, as well as memorials for homeowners who pass away and expenditures associated with mailings, website management, and insurance.

Garbage and Recycling

Our trash day is Wednesday. Trash bins must be stored at least 10 feet from the front of the house per city ordinance.

For more information click on:  cityoffortwayne.org/solid-waste

You can also find additional information on recycle and other waster questions at the Allen County Waste Watcher page.

As a reminder, trash bins should not be left at the front of the house but must be stored at least 10 feet back.

Snow Plow & Runkle Park

Our Homeowners Association pays for snow plow services and maintenance of Runkle Park (at the corner of Channel and Inland).

Snow plowing triggers when a snow event of 2+ inches occurs at one time. Please move cars into driveways if possible and mark lawn edges with reflector poles to avoid yard scalping, especially on cul-de-sacs. Shovel or blow snow into yards rather than the street (especially if plow already went through), and contact a board member with questions or critiques first. :)

Runkle Park is mowed and treated for weeds throughout the growing season, and neighbors are welcome to enjoy the park year round. Please pick up after pets, supervise children (those hills can be slippery!), and donate and take from our Free Little Library on Inland Trail.

Who do you call?

We have a FWPD officer assigned to our neighborhood area. His name is Robert Geiger, and the best way to reach him with questions or concerns is via email: Robert.geiger (at) cityoffortwayne.org

For emergencies, call 911. For non-emergency calls, the FWPD desk sergeant can be reached at 260-427-1222.

Animal Care and Control can be reached by calling 311 or 260-427-1244.

For any other city concerns, lightpoles out, or to request garbage or recycling pickups, contact 311 by phone or fill out the online form: cityoffortwayne.custhelp.com/app/Fortwayne/home

Our association email address is woodlandsofriverside@gmail.com. It is checked weekly by a board member. We also have a residents facebook page that is not run by the board (though moderators are sometimes board members) that can get you answers to questions faster.
